Slip casting is the process of pouring slip (liquid clay) into plaster molds and then pouring the slip back out into a bucket. The slip forms a skin which hardens to the leatherhard stage and it can then be taken out of the mold. Once firm, the seams are scraped and smoothed and then it is fired in the kiln. Once it comes out of the kiln it is now in the bisque stage.

I have 1000+ slip casting molds that range from the 1950’s to the 2000’s! You will find many bisque items in my booth at Topeka Vendors Market, but if you see something on the site you want to purchase, just message me!
